Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If the cottage cheese has a lot of visible liquid, drain the excess moisture using a fine-mesh strainer.
- Add the cottage cheese to a mixing bowl and gently stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cottage cheese mixture onto the prepared baking sheet for each chip, leaving space between each portion.
- Using the back of a spoon, flatten each portion into a thin, even circle. Sprinkle with your seasoning of choice, if desired.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, checking toward the end, until the edges are deeply golden and the centers look dry. Baking time may vary depending on the moisture in the cottage cheese and the thickness of the chips.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the chips cool on the pan for about 10 minutes. They will become firmer and crispier as they cool.
- Carefully peel the cooled chips from the parchment paper and serve immediately, either on their own or with your favorite dip.
Notes
For the crispiest chips: Use a thicker cottage cheese and drain any visible excess liquid before baking. Keep each chip thin and evenly flattened, and don't remove them from the oven while the centers still look wet. The chips will continue to firm up as they cool. Baking time may vary depending on your oven, cottage cheese brand, and the thickness of the chips.
